TARGET / GIFTED SERVICES
Cobb County assesses all 1st graders using the CogAT Test to determine what learning style each individual student would benefit the most from. As we all know, all students learn differently, just like we do as adults. Some of us learn visually or by watching. Others are considered auditory learners and just like us, some students learn by moving around and these are considered kinesthetic learners.
The results of the CogAT test help teachers plan lessons by making sure that we meet the needs of ALL our students. The results are also used to determine which students have higher critical thinking skills and could benefit from our TARGET Program.
